The Colorado Eagles had their first shutout of the season courtesy of goalie Kevin Mandolese
LOVELAND, CO. – Coachella Valley didn’t make it easy on Mandolese with 25 shots on goal, however he was able to find a way to keep them out of the net. Five Eagles found a way to get the puck past the Firebirds goalie out of the 28 shots they took against him.
The Eagles would make the first goal of the night when forward Oskar Olausson took advantage of a powerplay where he notched the puck into the back of the net from the crease with just seconds left. With 9:21 left in the period Colorado’s center Mark Senden lit the lamp from the lower slot with the assist of Jason Polin and Neil Shea.
Going into the second period with a two-goal lead forward Jake Wise was able to add another goal for the Eagles from the lower slot with 8:08 left in the stanza. Colorado’s defenseman Calle Rosen followed that goal up with one of his own during a powerplay with 1:06 left from the top of the crease to end the period 4-0.
With a four goal lead the Eagles were able to find the back of the net 7:28 in for the final time of the night when center Jayson Megna got one in from the right side of the crease to end the game 5-0.
The Eagles will be back on the ice against Coachella Valley Firebirds on Wednesday, November 6th at 7:05 MT at Blue Arena. Season tickets for the 2024-25 season are on sale now and can be secured with a deposit of just $100 per seat.
